Georgia Legislative Update

Source: Georgia General Assembly

Last week the Georgia General Assembly met and completed legislative days 5-8 out of 40.  The Georgia House of Representatives passed the FY 2021 amended budget (HB 80) and that legislation is now in the Georgia State Senate for consideration.  A few bills that we are monitoring include SB 6, the Tax Credit Return on Investment Act of 2021, which would allow for a study to determine the direct and indirect effects of Georgia tax incentives and HB 112, the Immunity Extension for COVID Liability. Also, HB 33 and HB 123 are proposing tax incentives to encourage military retirees to reside in Georgia.

The General assemble will reconvene on Monday, February 1 for the ninth legislative day.
