Cake & Bunn offers delicious desserts and unique custom celebration and wedding cakes to locals and visitors alike in Savannah, GA and the surrounding Low Country.

What new or exciting things are happening with your business?
When I started Cake & Bunn, I was only taking cake orders for family and close friends for birthdays and small gatherings. As the business has grown, I’ve expanded my portfolio to include large wedding cakes, custom logo sugar cookies for businesses, and more elaborate celebration cakes for birthdays and showers. 2020 had a negative impact on every business in every industry in some capacity. Kids’ birthday parties were cancelled. Weddings were practically reduced to elopements and family-only gatherings. As our industry bounces back, I look forward to working with new and existing clients in creating one-of-a-kind celebration cakes and themed sugar cookies as well as taking on larger wedding cake and dessert bar orders as couples start rescheduling their big day. I even have a new website in the works to showcase all my upcoming works of sugar art!

How are you standing out from your competitors?
Cake & Bunn stands out from competitors by creating unique cake and cookie designs that marry the clients’ wishes and my creative style. I operate the business as a one-woman show; I’m the planner, baker, decorator, delivery woman, dishwasher, accountant, and marketer all wrapped up into one. Doing every part of the operation allows me to provide a personalized experience from start to finish for my clients. From the initial consultation to the first bite of the finished product, I try and make every effort to connect to and understand their vision. I find joy in creating a product that meets or exceeds their expectations and puts a smile on their face when it comes time to taking that first bite.

Why do you think businesses should participate in their local Chamber?
Businesses of any kind no matter their size, industry, or presence in the community should participate in their local Chamber. A city’s Chamber provides so many opportunities for networking, community engagement, and business growth. They bring together business owners and employees in a range of settings to facilitate recognition, partnerships, and friendships. Even for someone like myself who would rather just decorate cakes and stay inside my bubble can find opportunity in attending a Chamber business function and making a connection with a local business or client I may not have otherwise through more traditional marketing avenues.

What do you love about Savannah?
I’ve been a Savannah resident for over 5 years. I’m proud to say I’m more in love with this city now than when I arrived. It’s charm and southern hospitality drew me in, and I haven’t left since. Living in a city as beautiful as Savannah is one thing but working here is even more rewarding. Our city’s thriving hospitality industry has helped my small business grow in so many ways. I’ve picked up clients from all over the country I would not have otherwise because they are choosing to spend their time off celebrating love or a milestone occasion here in Savannah. Our city is also unique when it comes to the support of the local community. So many of my clients have come to me via referral marketing and for a small business owner that is music to my ear. Our city prides itself on supporting and encouraging the growth of local businesses and it shows. We’re not called the “Hostess City of the South” for nothing!
