Visit Savannah Awarded Explore Georgia Tourism Recovery Marketing Grant

Visit Savannah has been awarded a Tourism Recovery Marketing Grant from Explore Georgia, the state tourism office within the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD). The Explore Georgia Tourism Recovery Marketing Grant program supports marketing efforts to bolster the recovery of Georgia’s tourism industry from the COVID-19 pandemic. Visit Savannah was awarded the maximum amount of $100,000 and is among 34 tourism entities across 27 counties who received a combined total of nearly $1.5 million in recovery marketing funding as part of this one-time grant program.

Visit Savannah Team Gets Hardhat Preview Tour of New Thompson Hotel

Members of Visit Savannah’s sales and marketing teams got a sneak peak of the new Thompson Hotel in Eastern Wharf last week as the hotel prepares for its July opening. Thompson general manager Matt Graham and his team walked Visit Savannah through the 193-guest room property with its 8,200 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting and event space and on-site dining venues.
