16@95 Partial-Turbine Interchange Announces LED Lighting as this Month’s Highlighted Feature

The new partial-turbine at I-95 and I-16 will include LED lighting to improve visibility and safety for nighttime travelers, need community leaders have discussed for years. The installation of the bases for the lights began in September 2021. The poles and fixtures will be installed as construction progresses. Some 243 light poles will be placed throughout the interchange, with each fixture featuring a LED module with 64 to 80 high-performance LEDs. These sleek LED lights last longer, are more energy-efficient, and produce a better-quality light than conventional interstate lighting. They provide a better driving experience at a lower cost for taxpayers. For more information on Georgia Department of Transportation Projects, click here.
