Legislative Update: Week of March 8

This week, the Georgia General Assembly will meet on Tuesday, March 8 for legislative day 25, Wednesday, March 9 for legislative day 26, and Friday, March 11 for legislative day 27. Thursday, March 10 will be a committee workday. Crossover Day is scheduled for March 15. Crossover Day is the day a bill generally must pass out of its legislative Chamber of origin to be considered by the other Chamber for this legislative session. Also, this week all candidates for legislative and statewide races must register and qualify for their election at the state capital.

Visit Savannah hosted the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) for a site visit last week, as they consider Savannah for a future meeting. This 2024 program would utilize the full expansion of the center and would bring more than 1,500 attendees and 4,000+ room nights to Savannah. AANEM was last in Savannah in 2004.

Visit Savannah is pleased to announce the internal transfer of Ansley Connor from communications manager to social media and content manager. Ansley joined the team in 2018 as a marketing and communications intern and made an impression with her strong communication skills, writing capabilities, and overall positive attitude.

More than 50 members and guests attended this quarter’s Speed Networking event hosted by the Savannah Country Club. Attendees traded business cards and introductions in quick 30-second increments for an opportunity to meet everyone in attendance.
