Savannah Chamber Military Affairs Council Chairman & Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, Bill Cathcart, was awarded the Savannah Technical College Foundation’s Opportunity Award at the 17th annual Savannah Technical College Foundation’s Opportunity Award Gala on Friday, April 22, 2022.
The Savannah Technical College Foundation Opportunity Award honors deserving leaders in our community for a lifetime of service in creating and enhancing opportunities for others to succeed. Proceeds support the College’s Freedom Fund military scholarship.

Held in Atlanta, this conference provided updates on the status of international visitation to the U.S. for the coming months.

Early in the week,the Sales Team hosted the American Bar Association’s Allison Goldman and her clients, Andrew and Denise Palmieri. The meeting planners visited a number of our downtown hotels in search of a location for a 2024 Mortgage Brokers Association meeting.

On Monday, April 25, Historic Savannah Foundation took a big step toward providing a happy ending for the Virginia Jackson Kiah House, which has been vacant for 20 years as a contested probate process kept the building’s fate in limbo. HSF is now proud to announce they’ve officially closed on the property and have assumed ownership.

Last Thursday evening, the Chamber hosted more than 150 attendees for the Chamber’s Tybee Business Connection at the new Tybee Marine Science Center. Along with the gorgeous beach views and live sea animals, guests enjoyed lite bites from North Beach Bar & Grill, tunes provided by J.K. Productions, and delicious daiquiris and gumbo from Wet Willie’s.

Last week, the Chamber hosted this month’s Coffee Chats with a sneak peek of the Unique Design X Savannah Exhibit at the Kehoe Ironworks building at the Charles Morris Center. More than 70 attendees previewed the curated selection of works by talented artists, architects and designers from 12 countries. The event started with open networking, followed by participants giving their best elevator pitches about their businesses!
