Last week, Visit Savannah’s leadership team participated in their annual retreat. The team worked on 2023 objectives which included, developing strategies for bolstering the current leisure travel demand in the market, cultivating new and larger convention business prospects for the Savannah Convention Center expansion and improving efficiencies of our current data-driven intelligence.

Coffee Chats return this September to the Clyde! Members are invited to commence their morning with a freshly-brewed cup of coffee and stimulating business conversations with new clients.
The event allows for 30 minutes of open networking first, followed by a 10-15 seconds “elevator pitch” session where participants introduce themselves and their brand to everyone.

Last week, Visit Savannah's Director of Midwest Sales attended the Destination Celebrations Tradeshow and Reception in Minneapolis. Here, some 95 Minneapolis-based meeting planners joined 45 destination representatives for an evening reception.
Savannah was showcased at the tradeshow and prospected for future meetings and planning events.

Last Week, Visit Savannah’s Visitor Information Center staff toured The Davenport House Museum, a property of The Historic Savannah Foundation.
As part of the visitor center’s ongoing effort to keep up with all that is old and new in Savannah, a fresh tour of The Davenport House was one of the many things on the list. Jamie Credle, the Director of the Davenport House Museum, graciously invited the staff to start the tour at The Kennedy Pharmacy and the new Preservation Hall, where the original seven ladies who started the preservation movement in Savannah are honored.

The Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless along with the Salvation Army, U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Savannah State University, Union Mission, and many others will be sponsoring a “Stand Down for Homelessness Resource and Job Fair” on September 20, 2022.
A trolley will run from three squares (Ellis, Franklin, and Reynolds), as well as the Savannah Baptist Center, to the Salvation Army Community Center located at 3000 Bee Road, where the actual fair will take place.

Newly-weds, Marshall and Kyla Brooks from Bellefonte, PA stopped by the main Visitor Center on MLK right after getting married in the courtyard of the Forsyth Inn. The couple tied the knot on August 24th and decided to embark on their marriage with a classic Savannah trolley tour.
First impression specialists at the Visitor Center greeted the married couple and captured their happy moments as they struck a pose in front of the iconic Forysth Fountain – a true memorabilia of the Savannah experience.

On August 31st, the Chamber supported Union Mission and Parker’s as they hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Parker’s House. This facility will be solely dedicated to providing emergency housing and comprehensive services for unaccompanied women experiencing homelessness in Savannah, Ga. and across coastal Georgia.
