Savannah Convention Center Receives Gold LEED Re-Certification

The U.S. Green Building Council has re-certified the Savannah Convention Center LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold for existing buildings. The Savannah Convention Center was the first convention center in Georgia to obtain this certification in 2017.

LEED is a green building rating system for sustainable building design, construction, operations, and maintenance. Part of the LEED certification rating system is validating sustainable best practices already in place at a facility and improving in other areas beyond energy efficiency and carbon emission reduction. The Savannah Convention Center staff are deeply committed to continuous improvement in operations and maintenance of their facilities to provide genuinely high-performing, sustainable work environments.

The Savannah Convention Center is a 330,000-square-foot meeting facility located on the Savannah River and is currently under construction to double in size by late 2023.
