Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce Hosts the Georgia Chamber of Commerce for a Post Legislative Discussion
Last week, the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed Nancy Palmer, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Tiffany Holmes, Deputy Director of the Foundation of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce for a post-legislative session discussion. Chamber members and community partners joined the conversation, which focused on key topics including Senate Bills 68 and 69 (tort reform), upcoming income tax cuts, and military retirement tax changes. The group also reviewed the local delegation’s performance, with the Georgia Chamber set to release a full scorecard at a later date. Looking ahead, the meeting touched on possible legislative goals and initiatives for the 2026 session. Read more ▶

Visit Savannah is thrilled to share the honor of being recognized for not just one, but two Communicator Awards of Distinction for our Architectural Digest gatefold ads! These ads mark a major milestone as they are the first gatefold ads Visit Savannah has ever created. Our first ad, “Savannah Sets the Stage for Life’s Best Scenes,” debuted in September 2024, and its success led us to follow up with our second gatefold ad “It’s all in the Details” in November 2024 and January 2025. Visit Savannah's Mindy Shea traveled to Canada to participate in the Canada Connect East trade show to showcase Savannah to Canadian travel advisors. The week included over 50 one-on-one appointments with agents, as well as insightful panel discussions. Visit Tybee Hosts Spring Marketing Workshop
Last Tuesday, the Visit Tybee team hosted their first marketing workshop of the year at Hotel Tybee. Attendees learned about crafting earned media strategies and how to grow their group business. Following the informative presentation, members were invited to meet one-on-one with members from the marketing, membership and sales team to answer any questions. Visitor Information Center Staff Holds Monthly Meeting at Locally Made Savannah
During May’s monthly staff meeting, the VIC team enjoyed a wonderfully creative and fun-filled experience at Locally Made Savannah! Team members enjoyed pouring their own candles at the "Lit It" candle bar and designing custom trucker hats at the "Hats Awesome" station. To top it all off, sweet treats and nostalgic goodies were served up at their whimsical "Soda Shop." Verizon Announces $5B Commitment to Continue Investing in America and Supporting Small Businesses
Verizon announces a commitment to invest $5 billion over the next five years in US small business suppliers with the launch of its new Small Business Supplier Accelerator. The program helps create a pipeline for American small businesses, many of which are owned by veterans, to work with Verizon and other large corporations. Tomochichi United States Court House Reaches New Milestone in Construction Project
The Tomochichi Courthouse project team reached a significant milestone recently with the completion of work on the tower. The work, completed over the last 16 months, was necessary to ensure the tower’s structural soundness and stop water intrusion. According to GSA’s Project Executive Abby Low, the tower has a new roof, an enhanced steel structure, and the mortar between the marble in the exterior has been replaced. “This is exciting,” said Low. “This is a major milestone that marks the first visual sign of the future of the building.” Read more ▶
