At this first-thing-in-the-morning networking opportunity, participants smiling through their safety masks will begin with 30 minutes of open networking, then spend 30 minutes listening to each attendee share a 10-15 second “elevator pitch” about who they are and what they do.

The Georgia Chiefs of Police gathered from around the state in Savannah last week for the Savannah Convention Center’s first socially distant meeting. To increase attendee safety, the Center installed a new air purification system in place, hand sanitizer stations and displayed appropriate signage to remind convention-goers about the proper protocols needed to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon (November 7-8), Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5K ( November 20-21) and the Enmarket Savannah River Bridge Run ( December 5) are moving forward with plans to run the events this fall. At this time, no events have been canceled.

Leadership Southeast Georgia (LSEGA) is seeking nominations for civic, nonprofit and business leaders across the 10-county Southeast Georgia region to join the 2021 class of its leadership program. The deadline to apply is Friday, Aug. 14. The LSEGA Program brings together a diverse cohort of professionals from Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh and Screven counties to form lasting relationships as they learn about and engage in constructive debate surrounding issues critical to the region's development and its distinct communities. The Southeast Chapter of the American Red Cross is holding a blood drive on Wednesday, July 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Charles H. Morris Center at Trustees Gardens. Donors will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies with result available via the America Red Cross App in 7-10 days. For additional information on the blood drive, click here.
