Applications for the 2021 Leadership Savannah Class are currently being accepted. This will be a one-year class. Leadership Savannah seeks to inspire individual leadership growth by providing the learning experiences that lead to a better understanding of our community and preparation for meeting community challenges of the present and future. The 2021 class will be limited to 42 people.

Former City Manager Michael Brown to Serve Again in Savannah

Mayor Van R. Johnson II announced the intention to appoint Michael Brown as the interim City Manager beginning Nov. 2, 2020. Brown was the Savannah Assistant City Manager from 1980 to 1989. After a stint in Columbus, Georgia, Brown came back to Savannah to take the reins as City Manager in 1995 and retired in 2010.

GDOT Breaks Ground on I-16 at I-95 Improvement Projects

The 16@95 Improvement Projects will provide infrastructure enhancements to the I-16 at I-95 interchange and along the I-16 corridor, one of Georgia’s busiest freight corridors as well as the gateway to the growing port in Savannah. The projects are intended to ease congestion, decrease travel times, and increase safety and operational efficiencies for passenger and freight vehicles.
