This past Friday, Visit Savannah President Joseph Marinelli and Vice-President Jeff Hewitt escorted Savannah City Council members Linda Wilder-Bryant and Nick Palumbo on a tour of the Savannah Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Expo at the Savannah Convention Center. Council members got a behind-the-scenes look at the operations and logistics involved in putting on a large-scale running event. Ms. Wilder-Bryant and Mr. Palumbo were impressed with the overall energy and excitement of the Expo and the pre-race fun participants and guests were having while visiting our city.

Please join the Chamber’s Military Affairs Council for a salute to our veterans and a defense update on Wednesday, November 17 at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront. The Military Affairs Council is pleased to welcome Maj. Gen. Charles D. Constanza, the new commander of the 3rd Infantry Division from Ft. Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield to share initiatives around local, state and federal issues and initiatives as they relate to our area installations.

Margaret Mary Russell led her final program as the Director of Leadership Savannah this week, where the Department of the Army recognized her. She was awarded the Patriotic Public Service Award by LTC Bolton, a member of this year’s Leadership class and Garrison commander. He spoke warmly of Margret Mary’s contributions to the military and how her work has ensured the leaders of Savannah continue to appreciate the significant impact our military plays in our local community.

Plant Riverside District is currently accepting vendors to reserve booths for the Savannah Christmas Market at Plant Riverside District, which will take place Friday, November 26, 2021, through Thursday, January 6, 2022. A limited number of Savannah Christmas Market vendor booths will be available for lease along Savannah’s riverwalk.

More than 31 teams participated in the 15th Annual Chamber Cup last week, where groups experienced perfect weather conditions and a great day on the links at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Course. Money raised at this year’s event will benefit the Leadership Savannah Scholarship Fund.

This month’s Courses and Conversations at the Gingerbread House was a total networking success. With more than 45 attendees, members had a meaningful conversation over their various courses and left with an expanded network of professionals.
