Savannah Area Year-End Business Lunch on December 9 to honor 2021 Oglethorpe Award Winner Robert H. Demere, Jr.

On Thursday, December 9, the Savannah Business Community will honor community champion Robert  H. Demere, Jr. for his legacy of philanthropy and leadership with the prestigious Oglethorpe Award. This award is named for General James Edward Oglethorpe, a humanitarian, leader, and visionary who led 120 colonists in founding Savannah and the colony of Georgia in 1733, for their legacy of philanthropy and leadership. The event will be held from noon – 1:30 p.m. at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa

In addition to the Oglethorpe Award presentations, business organizations such as the Black Chamber of Commerce, Buy Local Savannnah, Downtown Business Association, the Hispanic Chamber, Savannah Economic Development Authority, Tourism Leadership Council, and Visit Savannah will present business updates and the 2022 business outlook for Savannah and the surrounding counties.

You’re invited to join the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce at its Annual Holiday Oyster Roast Business Connection! We’ll be roasting bushels of fresh, local oysters Thursday, December 2 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. around the Christmas Tree at Broughton Street and Bull Street in celebration of the holiday season. In addition to Savannah’s celebrated coastal cuisine, this favorite annual event will feature music, beverages, relationship-building with the Savannah area’s business professionals and local pop-up shops for all of your holiday gifting needs.

Pop-Up Holiday Booths Available for Chamber Holiday Oyster Roast December 2

The Chamber will be hosting a pop-up holiday shop at our Holiday Oyster Roast, where attendees can start shopping for holiday gifts. You’ll have the opportunity to reach a potential 400 event attendees on Thursday, December 2, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. around the Christmas Tree at Broughton Street and Bull Street in celebration of the holiday season.  Spaces will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. The non-competing business rule applies, so beat your competitors and snag your spot now! If you have an iPad with product images or videos, please feel free to bring it to impress your brand upon shoppers, but no power will be provided, and backdrops will not be allowed.

Southeast Sales Manager Jennifer Thompson attended the Meetings Today show held in Myrtle Beach last week, where she welcomed more than 20 meeting planners for appointments. This show is one of the Southeast’s most popular and will be hosted by Savannah and the DeSoto Hotel in late 2022. Jennifer also had the opportunity to pre-promote Savannah at the American Fats and Oils conference hosted in Nashville last week.
