This past weekend, the Savannah Sports Council welcomed runners from around the country as the Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon and 5K made their return to an in-person race after a two-year hiatus. Participants enjoyed a pre-race fashion and fitness expo at the Kehoe Ironworks Building on Friday and perfect weather on Saturday for the half marathon and 5K runs. “We are excited to welcome runners to Savannah for the Publix race,” said Katlyn Presti, sports event manager for the Savannah Sports Council.

The Georgia Ports Authority, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Georgia Department of Transportation and dignitaries joined state officials Friday to mark completion of the Savannah Harbor deepening. The project expedites the flow of cargo to and from global destinations by reducing tidal restrictions for mega-ships transiting the Savannah River.

Kellie Linder hosted WinShape Foundation this week for a site visit for a February 2023 annual meeting. This meeting would bring 500 WinShape Foundation employees to Savannah to team build and celebrate the foundation's success for 2022.

Jeff Hewitt and Larry Browder of Visit Savannah, along with Staci Stover of the Savannah Convention Center, attended the “Destination Showcase” trade show in Washington D.C. last week.
