The Visit Savannah Sales and Marketing Team recently attended IPW, the largest domestic show for international inbound travel in the U.S. This year’s event was held in San Antonio, Texas, and was attended by over 5,000 people from more than 60 countries. Mindy Shea, Director of International sales, and Jeff Hewitt, Executive Vice President, Sales & Service, met with 75 tour operators and industry leaders, mostly from Savannah’s top inbound countries of Canada, the UK, and Germany.

Leadership Chairmen Mark Bennett who also serves as Senior Manager of Public Affairs and Community Investment at Gulfstream Aerospace gave opening remarks before leading the class on a facility tour where they saw a new jet take its inaugural flight.

Visit Tybee held a marketing workshop in mid-May for all local Tybee businesses to learn more about improving business visibility and drawing more customers. Staff from Visit Tybee, Visit Savannah, and the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce were on-site to explain essential practices businesses could implement immediately.

Last week, Visit Savannah’s Senior Director of Sales Larry Browder recently visited Philadelphia to conduct sales calls and attend a special customer event. The Philly Chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) held their most popular event of the year, a VIP private event at a Phillies game.

Last week, The Savannah Theatre set up a display at the main Visitor Center on MLK informing visitors about the “Savannah Live Show.” Jacob and Mitchell from the theatre were happy to answer questions and provide information about the theatre’s upcoming events. They also handed out candy and discount coupons! The display was a great success, with many visitors stopping by to learn more about the theatre and the show.
