Visit Savannah welcomed the U.S. Travel Association’s ESTO Conference to the city last week. The five-day event brought over 1,250 tourism marketing professionals from around the country to Savannah for the most current and trending tourism trends and seminars.

U.S. Congressman Buddy Carter Meets with Savannah Chamber and Visit Savannah Leadership

The team welcomed U.S. Congressman Buddy Carter last week to the offices at 101 East Bay Street for an informal visit. Chamber President & CEO Bert Brantley and Chamber's VP of Government Affairs Jared Downs visited with Carter to discuss business-related issues that are affecting the Savannah region, and to thank him for his consistent support of our area’s military installations.

Savannah Hosts Legislative Group Studying Tax Credits

The Georgia House and Senate Joint Tax Credit Review Committee met at the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah last week to continue their efforts to review Georgia’s various tax credit programs. At this event, Savannah Area Chamber President and CEO Bert Brantley moderated a panel discussion of business leaders focused on economic development programs.

Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce Meets with Congressman McCormick to Discuss Military Matters

Last week, Jared Downs of the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce met with U.S. Congressman Dr. Rich McCormick and Pete Hoffman, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum in Pooler. The meeting focused on essential military affairs in Savannah and the Coastal Region.

The class met with legislative delegation members, Savannah Mayor Van Johnson and Chatham County Commissioner Chair Chester Ellis, city and county attorneys, city and county managers, and the head of Chatham Area Transit.
