Chamber Awards Area Businesses at Annual Banquet

Over 350 local businesses joined the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce last week for its annual Business Awards Banquet. The event recognizes standout leaders in the community, honoring individuals and companies representing Savannah's economic drivers, such as hospitality, manufacturing, and small businesses.

"We received some exceptional nominations this year, most of which came from fellow businesses and community experts," said Bert Brantley, president and CEO of the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce. "We appreciate those who took the time to nominate these outstanding leaders and organizations. Choosing the final candidates was difficult due to the abundance of well-qualified applicants within the business community."

Savannah Chamber Hosts GA Works Licensing Commission Meeting in October

The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the October meeting of the GA Works Licensing Commission last week. The commission, convened by Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, is exploring ways to reduce barriers to employment for those in occupations that require professional licensure.

Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce Partners with Air National Guard on Recruitment Campaign

The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce proudly supports the Air National Guard's recruitment efforts through an advertising campaign partnership at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.

The Chamber is continually grateful for all our military does for our country and community. Don't forget to join us as we recognize our service members at the 2023 Veteran's Day Salute on Wednesday, November 8, at noon at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront.

Visit Savannah's Sales Team and Partners Make Gains in the Northeast

Anjuli King with Visit Savannah, Renee Scott with Old Savannah Tours, and Hayley Johns from Best Western Historic District recently traveled to the Northeast to make sales calls and meet potential clients. The team met with ten group tour operators between Boston and Connecticut and secured bookings for groups arriving in Savannah as early as the week of October 9, 2023. The team will head to Ohio for their next sales mission next fall.

Savannah Chamber Hosts Savannah Junior League's "Bubbles & Bills"

The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the Savannah Junior League's "Bubbles & Bills" event at the Chamber office last week. The event allowed the Junior League members to learn more about the Chamber's advocacy efforts on behalf of the business community.

Chamber Team Participates in Flu Clinic from Low-Cost Pharmacy

The Savannah Area Chamber and partners Low-Cost Pharmacy set up an opportunity for team members to receive flu shots on-site, if they choose to, in a very convenient and relaxed setting. Chamber President and CEO Bert Brantley received his vaccine from Low-Cost's professional and efficient team first-up. Annual vaccinations help maintain a healthier workforce, reduce healthcare costs, and foster a positive work environment while ensuring the business community continues to prosper this upcoming cold and flu season.
