This week our country celebrates Thanksgiving. It is an opportunity to reflect on all we are thankful for and celebrate the many good things that make living and working in the Coastal Region unique. In that spirit, the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank our more than 2,200+ members, area businesses, and community partners who help ensure our region grows and thrives, helping make Georgia the #1 state in the country to do business.
As you spend time with loved ones and friends this holiday season, be sure to support local small businesses and events in our community, like shopping on Small Business Saturday or participating in Savannah Holly Days events. Small businesses impact this community in various ways, from interpersonal relationships to local government and the economy. Small businesses create two-thirds of new jobs and deliver 43.5 percent of the United States' gross domestic product (GDP). In addition to keeping the economy running, small businesses also lead the way in innovation. We bring jobs and revenue to the local economies by offering employment, and local products, paying sales and property tax, and using local vendors and supporting services.
As we reflect on the season, we are thankful for the opportunity to buy and sell with our friends and neighbors. And we remember the vital roles small businesses play in our lives.
May this holiday season fill you with gratitude and joy for our blessings as Savannahians and a desire to share those blessings with others.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Sincerely, Allyson Harvin, Chamber Chairman SERVPRO of Savannah
