Last week, representatives from Visit Savannah, Savannah Hilton Head International Airport, and Hilton Head Chamber of Commerce traveled to New York City. Representatives from all three organizations went to update Jet Blue executives on the latest numbers and developments from Savannah/ChathamCounty and Hilton Head.
They highlighted the most current visitor economy numbers, economic development news, port statistics, and home sales data. After making this trip annually for ten years, it was the first since the pandemic began.

Coffee Chats return this September to the Clyde! Members are invited to commence their morning with a freshly-brewed cup of coffee and stimulating business conversations with new clients. The event allows for 30 minutes of open networking first, followed by a 10-15 seconds “elevator pitch” session where participants introduce themselves and their brand to everyone.

Visit Savannah's Senior Director of Sales Larry Browder recently completed a successful visit to the Washington DC area. He attended the 40th Annual Meeting of the Association of Meeting Professionals (AMPS), a special event of the Professional Convention Management Association(PCMA) and, visited with customers during sales calls.

Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) seeks business partners to provide career and vocational opportunities by volunteering their time and workspace to a cohort of 20 or less students over this school year through the QUEST program. Volunteer businesses would agree to visit the cohort in a local high school where the students would hear about their business, industry, or non-profit. Guest speakers will share valuable knowledge and key information about their trade and how to enter their field.

The U.S. Green Building Council has re-certified the Savannah Convention Center LEED Gold for existing buildings. The Savannah Convention Center was the first convention center in Georgia to obtain this certification in 2017. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a green building rating system for sustainable building design, construction, operations, and maintenance.

The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire will be hosting Savannah Day of Peace on September 25, 2022 in Daffin Park. The Day will feature a peace parade led by Savannah Mayor Van Johnson and Savannah City Council members. The 2022 Peacebuilder Award Honoree will be announced and the City of Savannah's new Peace Proclamation will also be on display. This event is open and free to the public!
