Runners Return this Weekend for the Savannah Rock’ n’ Roll Marathon & Half Marathon

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series returns to Savannah this weekend with solid runner registration numbers and slight changes to the race route. Events begin on Thursday, November 4, with the packet pickup and the Health & Fitness Expo at the Savannah Convention Center from 3 – 7 p.m. Packet pickup and Expo resume on Friday, November 5, from noon – 8 p.m.

Chamber to hold Veterans’ Salute and Military Update Lunch | November 17

The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Veterans’ Day Salute and Military Update Lunch on Wednesday, November 17, at noon at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront. The Military Affairs Council is pleased to welcome Maj. Gen. Charles D. Constanza, the new commander of the 3rd Infantry Division from Ft. Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, to share initiatives around local, state, and federal issues and initiatives related to our area's military installations. All businesses are encouraged to attend to support the more than 20,000 enlisted men and women and their $4.9B economic impacts on our region.

16@95 Partial-Turbine Interchange Announces LED Lighting as this Month’s Highlighted Feature

The new partial-turbine at I-95 and I-16 will include LED lighting to improve visibility and safety for nighttime travelers, need community leaders have discussed for years. The installation of the bases for the lights began in September 2021. The poles and fixtures will be installed as construction progresses. Some 243 light poles will be placed throughout the interchange, with each fixture featuring a LED module with 64 to 80 high-performance LEDs.
