More than 10,000 suppliers and buyers were in attendance, meeting with destinations worldwide. Savannah had a significant presence at the show and met with 109 meeting and convention planners.

The Savannah Area Chamber's ballot initiative committee, Citizens for Progress, has started an aggressive education program to inform the voters of Chatham County on the benefits of a Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST). Early voting in Chatham County began this past Monday, October 7, and runs through November 4, with election day being November 8.

Last week, Leadership Savannah enjoyed its annual military program with much anticipation. The participants started the day at the 165th Airlift Wing, where they learned about the dual mission of the division. After that, Col. David Spisso, Class of 2017, flew the class on a C-130 to Hunter Army Airfield but not before dropping the back door and maneuvering the plane to grab everyone's attention.

Last week the Chamber visited The Culturist Union for their monthly Coffee Chats networking session. More than 40 members came to this locally-owned coffee shop for introductions and connection-building with new area professionals. The Culturist Union is a black-owned and female-owned multifunctional coffeehouse + marketplace whose artisan indoor and outdoor spaces offered a great networking atmosphere.
